Cotelere Ltd of Sheffield Louis XIV Handle 4"
 
My original letter opener designs are based on the small dirks made in Sheffield England mostly from 1840 to 1914. Many of them had what are termed "cutlery" handles
 
Recently I had the chance to purchase some vintage handles made by Cotelere Ltd of Sheffield England probably 75 years ago and mostly never used. Cotelere Ltd made handles for many of the better cutlery makers of the time. Best I can tell they are nickel silver, not polished. A few have age spots some might have cutlers cement inside. Shown with one of the small letter opener bowie kits for size. Simply cut the tang to fit and expoy it all up
